An homage to Earth Goddesses, and Mother Nature, these abstract ceramics capture the forceful energy of Spring, that bursts forth, pushing upwards and outwards. Like new life piercing through the earth’s crust, these ceramic sculptures communicate rebirth. I call them “Miteria”, a word conjured from the archaic Greek word for Mother -Miter, symbolizing fertility and life. These sculptures reflect the dual nature of Persephone being both chthonian and vegetative. They are earthly, surging through nature.
